The Association is comprised of winegrowers, winemakers and Industry members from the Antelope Valley of the California High Desert AVA, the Leona Valley AVA, the Sierra Pelona AVA (Agua Dulce and Mint Canyon area), as well as the Tehachapi/Cummings Valley and Phelan/Pinon Hills areas.
The Association works closely with our local cities and counties to facilitate the development of wine related business and tourism in the area. Members regularly participate in the formation of public policy as it relates to agriculture and community development. This is in an effort to preserve our local heritage of grape growing and winemaking that dates back to the 1890's.
The approval of these American Viticulture Areas by the Tax Trade Bureau of the US Treasury brings world class recognition to the Winegrowers of our areas and allows labeling to reflect regional characteristics and terrior.
The Association extends many thanks for the expertise and perseverance of Ralph and Marie Carter in the formation of our AVA’s.
The Antelope Valley Winegrowers Association founded in 2006, has brought together winegrowers and winemakers to form a collective voice for the promotion and advancement of an ever growing wine industry in the Antelope Valley.
